Mental health problems are very common on college campuses across the country. Helping Hearts Club was created at SMU as a safe place for people to come together to discuss and improve their mental health.
In this episode of Ask the Expert, sophomore Maud House asks questions about mental health issues that college students face and what Helping Hearts Club does to help.

Ally Lobel is a junior at SMU and is majoring in psychology with minors in graphic design and advertising. She thinks it’s important for students to know that they are not alone in dealing with their mental health and that there are ways to manage and improve it. Lobel created this club during the pandemic when a lot of people were struggling with mental health and hopes that this club continues to grow in popularity in the future.
